The Founder and Spiritual Guide of the New Kadampa Tradition is Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, affectionately known as ‘Venerable Geshe-la’. A world-renowned meditation master, he lived in the UK for over 30 years and showed the manner of passing away at Manjushri Centre in September 2022.

Venerable Geshe-la dedicated his life to making Buddha’s teachings accessible and practical for the modern world. He authored 23 books, established over 1,300 centers worldwide, and trained countless teachers.

Through his compassionate vision and tireless efforts, he made available to everyone the scientific methods to develop inner peace, helping thousands find deep happiness and meaning in their lives.
Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong
General Spiritual Director of the NKT
Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong is the General Spiritual Director of New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU) and Resident Teacher at Manjushri KMC.
She is an ordained Buddhist nun who has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over thirty years, sincerely training under his guidance in all aspects of Kadam Dharma. She is recognized as a fully-qualified Dharma Teacher of both Sutra and Tantra. Besides teaching at Manjushri KMC, Gen-la also teaches at major events throughout the world.
Gen-la Kelsang Jampa
Deputy Spiritual Director of the NKT
Gen-la Jampa is the Resident Teacher at KMC Los Angeles and the Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU).
As a senior NKT teacher, Gen-la Jampa has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years, and under Geshe-la’s guidance has taught at many centers and events around the world. Gen-la is well-loved for his clear and inspiring teachings and his ability to touch people’s hearts through his sincerity and loving-kindness.​
Gen Kelsang Demo

Midwestern National Spiritual Director
Gen Kelsang Demo is the US Western and Midwestern National Spiritual Director and the Resident Teacher at the International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon. She has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for more than 29 years and has been teaching Kadampa Buddhism since 1998.

Gen Demo is deeply respected as a teacher and practitioner. She demonstrates a wealth of practical knowledge and provides clear and inspiring teachings for people of all levels of interest.
