Bring in the New Year in a special way with 24-hour Tara chanting by candlelight. Every four hours, we will chant homages to our Blessed Mother, Arya Tara, requesting her protection for the coming year. You can attend any number of sessions and are welcome to sleep at the Center. Sessions Dec. 31 - Noon, 5 pm, 8 pm. Jan. 1 - Midnight, 4 am, 8 am
Two special class series are available this term: Living Meaningfully/Dying Joyfully - A Buddhist Perspective on Death; and Mahamudra Tantra - The Way of Great Bliss. Classes Thursdays at Tara Center in Central Tucson, as well as in Northwest Tucson on Wednesdays and Green Valley on Mondays.

Experience the joy of meeting your Kadampa family with inspiring teachings from our National Spiritual Director, Genla Kelsang Dekyong at the SW Dharma Celebration in Albuquerque Feb. 6-8. 
Valentine special - Teaching and Sweets! After an inspiring teaching on the nature of love, share in exquisite gourmet desserts for a special Valentine evening. Feb. 14

January retreats - Lamrim and Mahamudra: During retreat we take ourselves away from our usual routines and learn how to develop the inner peace that we need for our daily happiness. A retreat is a meaningful holiday that brings great long-term benefit to our lives. Jan. 3-16
Mala-making workshop: Gen Lingpur will teach the traditional Buddhist technique for making a mala. Mala is the Sanskrit word for what we in the West would call a rosary, a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations. Jan. 17
Finally, plan your 2009 vacations in conjunction with a Dharma holiday.
